Key Functions & Responsibilities
  • Implementation of policies under the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA)
  • Preparation and updating of District Disaster Management Plan (DDMP)
  • Coordination with line departments for disaster preparedness, mitigation, and response
  • Emergency response during natural calamities (floods, landslides, storms, earthquakes, fire)
  • Rapid assessment of damages and need-based relief disbursement
  • Conduct of mock drills, training programs, and capacity-building workshops
  • Stock maintenance of emergency relief materials (tarpaulin, food kits, first-aid, etc.)
  • Early warning dissemination in coordination with IMD and NDMA
  • Submission of damage reports to the State Relief Commissioner
  • Grievance redressal related to disaster compensation and relief distribution
