Functions of the Project Director

Ongoing Schemes and Projects
a. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)

The MGNREGA guarantees 100 days of wage employment annually to rural adult members willing to undertake unskilled manual work. It aims to improve livelihood security through employment in infrastructure development projects.

d. National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM)

  • Financial Inclusion: Improve access to credit, savings, and other services.
  • Livelihood Promotion: Training, technical aid, and market linkages.

e. Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA)

Revamped in 2022 (for 2022–2026), RGSA focuses on strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and localizing SDGs.

  • Reimagines PRIs as centers for self-governance and growth.
  • Mandatory orientation and refresher training for elected reps.
  • Funding pattern: 60:40 (Centre:State), 90:10 for NE/Hill states and UTs (100% Central).
