Ongoing Schemes and Projects 1. NBOCW:
Implementation of the Building and Other Construction Workers (RE & CS) Act, 1996 and the Welfare Cess Act, 1996. The department has framed and implemented state rules for effective regulation and welfare of construction workers.

2. Minimum Wages Act, 1948:
This act sets a humanitarian wage floor across industries, ensuring minimum wage standards regardless of employer capacity.

3. Nagaland Shops and Establishment Act, 1986:
Regulates work hours, wages, health, safety, employment of children and women in shops and establishments. Employers must register their shops annually, which also generates revenue for the department.

4. e-SHARAM Portal:
A national portal for registering unorganized workers and creating a central database. It helps in delivering social security and welfare schemes more efficiently. Each registered worker receives a 12-digit UAN and insurance cover of ₹2 lakhs under PMSBY. Nagaland has registered 220,980 workers as of January 2024.
